Belief, no fear.

As a child, it was out of fear. Back then, they liked to put the fear of God in you. As an adult, I finally understand the purpose of Jesus, and there is no fear there.

When the human race reached a certain stage, God sent us the 10 Commandments. He was a tough God back then. But he had to be. He had a wild bunch of humans who had evolved from animals, and trying to build societies. We needed law and order to keep us on the right path.

However, no human could not sin. We are all sinners. None of us can get to Heaven this way.

So God came to Earth as Jesus. He did so in a way that is hard for us humans to comprehend. He separated part of his being from the rest of himself. I think he did this for two reasons; to experience what it is like to be human, and to bridge the gap between him and humans.

You see, no one was getting into heaven because no human could be sinless. So he died for our sins (I didn’t understand that for a long time). Basically God is saying. I know how hard it is to live as a human. I know everyone of you has or will sin. Therefore, I forgive you, and if you will admit you are a sinner and believe that Jesus is your savor, then you will get into Heaven. That it.

That is the point of Jesus. No fear, just believe in him. All the baggage us humans tag onto Jesus is unnecessary. All the debates about evolution/creation are unnecessary- Jesus doesn’t care which you believe in. He doesn’t care if you are straight or gay. He doesn’t care if you are a Republican or Democrat. He doesn’t discriminate against anyone. We are all sinners and no sin is worse than another in his eyes. Just believe in him and you are in. That’s it.

Anyway, that is my take on it.
