what might be wrong with this picture? Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras, Chile, etc. all going or trending to extreme left positions--don't you see a message here?
Certainly one would be blind to not see that not only are all these countries going left (which wouldn't bother me), but they are all going anti-US (which DOES bother me).
Using the term "Marxist" as a pejorative in attaching a label to the leaders or countries probably does little to settle the problem. The only Republican leader in memory that recognized the importance of Latin America was Nelson Rockefeller. He tried to advise one and all that this region was vital to the prosperity and very survival of the United States.
Don't you think it might be time to find why we are not liked in these areas and do something about it? Or, is it your position we should just remind them of how powerful our military is and tell them all to go to hell?
Does someone need to tell you we have a problem before it dawns on you?
