Self-promotion?

You may remember that Robin Hood was most famous for his support of those who had nothing, that he fought in self-defense, and that he yielded to rightful authority without self-indulgence.

As I recall, Robin Hood didn't go door-to-door with a little box looking for donations for the poor, so I assume you have a very broad definitoin of "self-defense." As an aside, I've also noticed that the original legend of Robin Hood returning confiscatory taxes to the people instead of "robbing the rich" in general, survives only in the Disney cartoon.

Why is it so hard for you to admit that we get crapped on unfairly by enemies and supposed allies, to an extent far greater that could be justified by our list of crimes?

It's bad enough from outside, but we now have almost two generations of Americans who have been taught to reflexively do it, too.

At some point, people are just going to say "screw it." Right now a lot of people are trying to get us to "take action" in Darfur. Don't know how eager Americans are going to be about this considering the certain knowledge that our repayment will be another dose of hatred.
