"media noche = "midnighter"
I'm familiar with the media noche, although it was not as popular in Tampa as it is in Miami, and was in Cuba. In fact, I don't think I've ever eaten one. The name comes from its shape (like a half moon, it's a round bun sandwich cut in half) and from the fact that it is the traditional midnight snack couples would share after an evening at the theater. Thanks for the memory.
