Freakin eh? Kaslo??
One of my oldest male friends lives there, built two houses on the lake.
I think he ran a ferry boat across the lake. He and his wife have been living here in Florida the past few years due to parent illness. He leaves here this weekend with his two girls and is driving back to.........Kaslo.
I met him in Toronto in the late 60's. He was born in Canada but had an Irish passport. He was living in the states with his dad and running lobster boats here in Florida when they got caught inside the boundary. He was immediately enlisted for Vietnam. He then left the US to go live with his mom in Canada, and that's when I met him in 1968. They must have been desperate for soldiers.
He eventually came back to the US a decade later to work with his dad again, got caught and was thrown in the brigg.....shackled and all. This was the late 70's. He jumped ship....I found him when he was AWOL....LOL.
He is quite the character when it comes to politics, as he has seen both sides. He can't WAIT to get back to Kaslo.....will be seeing him this weekend. Got any questions you want me to ask him?
