My friend called me last night.........from Louisiana. He and the girls had already got on the road to meet the movers at the BC border in time.
But I still got to ask him the questions.
He said running a ferry was one of his dreams when he first moved up there a decade ago, but he has been flying all over the world and doing 6 week stints on major shipping lines for years and the last thing he wants to do on his time off....is being back on a ship.
He and his wife built on the northern part of the lake up past Johnson's Landing. Says you have to take a 15 kilometer one lane gravel road up the mountain to get to his place and it's not for the faint of heart. They car pool with their neighbours to get the girls to school every day......back down that 8 mile road into town.
Says the parents of friends of his daughter bought Cody Caves, and that he's been up to the Slocan Chief, and that a freind of his built a house up there, ....everything was taken in by helicopter.
He doesn't like caves so has never been to the Bluebell mine, but that he had seen the house made of embalming bottles.
He's also explained his type of neighbours; they all sound like a colorful bunch.
