I can tell you my opinion on the only hope we have, will that do?

The only hope we have of decreasing Hezbollah's power:

Central Lebanese govt is strengthened and encouraged. They are allowed the time to make the tough choices and disentangle themselves from Hezbollah. Then they can police the bad guys themselves. This is a decades-long process, and requires all sorts of cooperation and encouragement from Israel and the US to make it happen. It also requires that we not resort to methods that set you back to square 1 or worse. Methods like destroying Lebanon's infrastructure. It means that when we are hit with an attack by the Hiz we use it as an opportunity to aid and encourage the central govt.

We will never get rid of Hezbollah if we make the Lebanese love them and hate Israel. Can't be done.

I think I've answered your "tough" question. Can you please address the point I raised now? About the apparently schizophrenic attack on Kerry for alluding to any plan to destroy the Hiz, while you seem to support Israel's and Bush's plan to do so? (you can mention the UN if you want to - it would be rude for me to set up a list of rules for you to follow in your response).
