You won't find a listing of an Al-Quaida terrorist attack on them since they seem to have this policy of not intervening in other country's affairs. Not that it's a justification of any of the attacks but, in general, all places that have been attacked have a very aggressive or colonial foreign or business policy. (note: I'm certain there have been acts of terrorism in Sweden. It's just not the first country that comes to the mind of a terrorist when he's making up his target list.)

Suddenly changing our national policy of interventionism would not make terrorism against us go away. That's absurd. We're too entangled in the world because of our economic might. We're going to be looked upon with scorn or at least insane jealousy by citizens of other countries that have no food, unclean water, acute political strife, and feelings of hopelessness. Problem is we can't bomb these people into loving us and we can't eliminate them all. Democracy by itself doesn't fix their problems since they run much deeper than what style government they've been bullied into accepting.

Scaling back our domineering and egotistical policies would certainly be a start on the road to recovery. Change only works when it's slow and gradual. Problem with you guys is you want it yesterday. There will always be thugs and villains. Our goal should be one of first making our house less of a target by not painting it in neon colors.
