Numbers. Again.

We've been over this in almost the same terms once or twice before. I remember the "Shouting Across the Divide" example, not only in another post here, but elsewhere. In fact, so far, it's pretty much been the one widely quoted example. The white crow that proves not all crows are black.

In past posts I linked to the small number of hate crimes in the U.S. against Muslims in this country since 9/11. I had to dig them up one year at a time in 12 MB PDF files from the FBI, and don't want to do it again. You're welcome to look up the numbers again yourself. Nor do I want to repeat yet again the number of terror attacks committed by radical Muslims around the world in a given month, or year.

I'm tired, Mary Anne. I have no idea why liberals will resist to the last breath any hint that Western civilization may not be as secure as it ought to be. Or even for some, that there is any evil in the world other than Western civilization. Or that there is any threat to our freedom other than our own government.

It's worth pointing out that the author of your last quote was messily executed by religious fanatics. Of his disciples, only one died a natural death.

The role of the meek throughout thousands of years of recorded history has largely been being ground under the feet of the not-quite-so-meek. It's no coincidence that Paul's religion, promising rewards and justice after death, found a lot of takers.
