re: On the subject of the soul, from Stings point of view.

Thanks Lindy.

Sting is a very intelligent and poetic song writer. I wonder what he means when he is talking about the bridge to Heaven being broken. Is it his own faith? Or is it his father? Or something else?

Thoughts at what lies beyond this life have been heavy on my mind lately.

In January I turned forty and I also lost a dear uncle. Since 2000, I have been loosing relatives that were a big part of my growing up. I am also watching my mother being slowly engulfed by Altimerzers’ horrible clutches.

As each relative passes away, part of my childhood dies with them. The few that are left have very old. Soon. I will be the older generation.

We humans do not like change, but life is about changes. I guess that is the hard part. But changes can be good. Watching the new generation, my kids, grow up and being a part of their life is wonderful.

And so is the way of life. The Old fades away and the New charges in. And hopefully the Old’s wisdom, experiences and knowledge is passed onto the New.

And for the Old, a new existence and adventure is about to begin.
