Not mocking you...

But those sound like unlikely events- not supernatural...

I have had such things happen- as a toddler, shortly after I was out of the crib, I think, I was awoken from sleep by my jack-in-the-box playing POP-GOES-THE-WEASEL all by itself in a slow stilted way- as I looked at it the snoopy doll popped up, but the cloth around the spring had flipped up- it was like seeing a well known friend flayed alive.... Its still a vivid memory for me...

I am sure that no ghosts or UFOs were involved in that incident... just an odd malfunction of a toy...

I have seen other kids, and some adults, have conversations with people that werent there-usually in their sleep- again, I chalk it up to the quirks of the human mind- my uncle has a funny story about a guy in vietnam that not just had conversations in his sleep, but would go on combat missions in the barracks in his sleep - once 'strangling' another soldier's bed leg convinced it was the enemy. I never chalked it up to ghosts. Some people do have memories that go back to before their first birthday- the earliest memory I can prove I had must have occurred shortly before I turned 1 years old- the earliest memory I THINK I have would have been at about half that age. The interesting thing is that pre-verbal memories are vastly different than the ones from after I could talk... It isnt hard for me to believe your son remembered grandma- I remember my great-grandfather who died around the time I turned one.

Twice in college I was awoken by my TV turning on by itself, on a different channel than I had left it and both times the channel was showing 'Shawshank Redemption'- I dont think a dead relative was trying to get me to watch a great movie. I just think the TV malfunctioned...

As a teen, I remember once on a whim deciding I wanted to hear a certain billy joel song- so I put the record on the turntable- yes I am old enough to have had records- and turned on the stereo- I listened to it a bit and thought it sounded odd- I checked the stereo- It was set to play FM radio- not the record- I switched it to the record and it was playing the song nearly in synch with the radio- unlikely? Yes- supernatural? I see no reason to think so... Such things are bound to happen.

Sometimes we interpret the unusual as the supernatural because we WANT it to be so- maybe even part of us NEEDS it to be so... but it does not make it so.

There is no reason to believe, in my opinion, that when we die we become ghosts that all of a sudden have an urge to do small creepy things... Your experience obviously was important to you, but I hope you keep it in perspective- reality is so much more awe inspiring than the supernatural...
