re: Also, its question begging

"Why? Because you don’t agree with it. Sorry DL, but that just does not cut it. MY POV on this is just as valid as yours.

No, I've shown how absurd conclusions have to be drawn from 'has human DNA and is alive', including Cell cultures fitting the bill, as well as bodies without brains or etc. Until you respond in a convincing reasoned fashion, then you are, frankly, full of shit as far as I am concerned. Its fine that you are full of shit. Everyone is full of it about most things. Its our right to be full of it. However, when it comes to passing laws, it ought to be about things that rational people can agree on nearly all of the time. Otherwise you are saying that your beliefs are more valid than other peoples beliefs.

I believe that a fetus is a human with rights. And I have science to back me up.

Then throw it down. Otherwise you're just saying: "I'm right because I'm right". You have said nothing other than "it has human DNA and is alive, therefore a human life". I call bullshit on that for all of the very obvious reasons I have pointed out in this discussion.

"It has human DNA and it is alive. And being human, it should have rights like the rest of us."

I'll tell the hair follicles at the root of the hair on my brush that next time I brush out a tangle after riding in my friends convertible. They'll be quite pleased to hear they are humans.

Yeti

You are a scientist. So you really believe that a person magically turns into a human once the cord is cut.
No, look up what viability means. Yeesh. It would be nice if you even knoew the basic terms under discussion.

"You know that a fertilized egg has the DNA for a unique individual. You know that egg starts building that person from conception. My POV is very reasonable. "

Again- silly thesis, for all the reasons I've mentioned. You need more than A DNA sequence otherwise absurdity rapidly follows. Thats science, thats rational. Johannes have lots of crazy beliefs thta h demands respect for, this is no different.

My 'crazy belief' is that full human life begins at viability (which is somewhere in the third trimester). My belief also states that an unborn child is precious and sacred, and that If someone was pregnant with my child, I would do everything i could short of infringing upon their rights to stop them from aboting it. But thats my belief, and thats where my rights end WRT that belief.
