My wife gave up her career as an accountant to be a stay at home mother. We don’t live in a huge house or drive a Lexus. And we don’t have a lot of toys. But we have a strong family, and that is worth more than all that material stuff.
When we calculated the cost of daycare, the transportation cost, the wear and tear on the car, the business cloths, the lunches and all that stuff, she really wasn’t brining home much extra. And our kids are worth more than that. So she quit her job for an even tougher, but more rewarding, job
I think if a lot of women did this, they would see it just not worth it to work and let some daycare raise your kids.
For the brief time my son (2 at the time) was in daycare, my wife would stop by on her lunch break and check on him. One day she caught a lady holding him to the mat and angrily telling him he was going to take a nap. She took him out that day and had her mother watch him until she decided to quit her job.
No one can raise your kids better then you.
