Since my wife is

a Nutrionist at a largeTribal daycare. She's not a direct care worker, but she sees enough.

Like everything.

I hear more about it, and know more than most.

Daycare workers are severely restricted in how they can deal with a distruptive/abusive/out of control child.

This isn't a choice, it's mandated by state, federal and often local guidlines.

Most, if not all, will do as yours did.

There too they don't have a choice, it's mandated by the rules they are bound by.

Period, end of discussion.

Tom's comments below also make a point, most of the enrolled children where my wife works are from lower income families, often single parents that have no choice about day-care. And barely can afford it anyway, many can only keep their child in care with assistance from various agencies and the Tribe.

Daycare, good daycare, is damned expensive. It can consume most of a low income worker's paycheck, even with assistance.
