I had to change careers to allow my wife to stay at home. I was a teacher. Fortunatly my wife gave me fair warning by telling me before the children came that she wanted to stay at home. When my first one was born I had just started a new job in the IT world.

We were not sure we could afford to have her stay at home and she worked for a while. Then we crunched the numbers and found we could do it. We had to give up some things and we found ways to save money.
