re: I was the "wonderful Mormon mom" in my neighborhood.

Mary Ann,

at least one person in this <chioce words> world understands what it means to "take care" of the kids.
The day you left the daycare business was a grim day for our world because we lost one great opportunity to give some kids the "correct" education.

The culprit at the daycare I have my son in is that in the last 5 months they moved in a teacher with her 4 yo son in the same class. The problem is obvious: her kid doesn't listen to her mom, he uses bad words to her mom and now 5 other kids in that class are doing the same. Should I blame my son for learning? Jokes aside it is hard for a 4 yo to full distinguish what's right from wrong. Dang, I know many 30+ yo that still cannot make that distinction.
Now I'll say that my son is a tought cookie at times, but nothing that a good talking to can't fix. The 2 times he said a bad word to me or his mother, he ended up in the bathroom with soap in his mouth and made sure he couldn't wash his mouth for at leat 15 minutes.
call cps... I must be a bad parent.
Turns out that now he doesn't dream of saying a bad word to us. Instead, the little monster, willc ome up to me and ask me if "DeeDee" is a bad word. I tell him it's not. To which he proudly announces: "Daddy, you are a DeeDee head" and walks away.
I am not going to punish that, since it shows a nice level of intelligence, and a tought attitude, that sometimes is needed in the <see above choice words> world.

Mary Ann, you would love to meet my son. He might get under your skin at times, but at the end he will always make you proud. =)

At least he is the only kid in my house that says please, thank you, and puts his dish in the sink when he is done eating.. the other two (8 and 10yo) don't give a damn, but I don't and can't discipline them. But that's another story.
