You should remember what a real Alpha Beta gathering looks like.

I recall there were several in LB, I just can't recall the streets.

That little cowboy was there till the early seventies. That other icon in the picture is the Van de Kamp bakeries windmill...remember those delicious Van de Kamp chocolate chip cookies? Or those crisp wafer-thin sugar cookies? Those were a staple purchase to serve on the coffee table before guests came over. Unavailable now for something like 30 years. Looking it up on the web, I see I'm not the only one who remembers these Alpha Beta treasures...

Van de Kamp was, I believe, bought out by Entenmanns. Unfortunately, even in Entenmann's heydey in the early eighties they were only half the bakery Van de Kamp was.

Anyways, I thought you might like the trip down memory lane...
