I don't pretend to know how this election will play out- there is a possibility one of the GOP clowns will win- and that is a terrifying thought.
What I do know is that one party has aligned itself firmly against science and reality. When the facts don't support their preferred narrative they make up easily disproven lies and hold onto them with a death grip. The GOP platform has become nothing more than mindless rage, their message has devolved into racism, hatred, ignorance, misogyny, and some, I assume, are good people. 8^)
The very fact that the two front-runners are a reality show star know-nothing like Trump ("Global warming is a hoax", "I will get Mexico to pay for a wall", etc..), and Carson- a doctor that believes that evolution is an absurd myth encouraged by satan- that says a hell of a lot about the party and the people that vote for it.
Add to that the fact that- in its unreasoning anger- they ignore the writing on the wall- take a look at these graphs:

The ONLY demographics where republicans are secure are White Males and White evangelicals... so do they reach out to try and turn around their declining numbers in the other groups? No- they insult and antagonize them- because the only ones that get power in the party are the most rabid, unreasoning party purists...
The ONLY good thing about the GOP is that it's hatred of the facts will eventually be it's undoing- there is no way they can survive long term given the way the demographics are changing.

Oh, I think it's doing ok- for instance the constitutional process recently got the government to stop telling people who they can marry... and despite repeated attacks, it has prevented government from telling women what they can do with their bodies... but that wasn't what you meant, was it? You only want restraint on the government's ability to put a check on the ability of corporations to make a profit at any cost.

Given the countless partisan hearings attempting to frame Hillary, they have all failed- even conservatives admit that it was really all just an attempt to reduce her poll numbers.
As for Communist...? You of all people should know the definition of that word, of that ideology, so you know full well neither Sanders or Clinton are even remotely 'communist'... you use the term, not because it fits the facts as they are... you call them communist because it fits the narrative you would like to believe- facts be damned... which brings us back to what is wrong with the GOP...
Your clowns aren't funny... they are stupid, terrifying and dangerous...
The worlds best hope is that the Clown-Car will veer just hard enough to the right that it pulls a Thelma and Louise off a cliff... ending in twisted wreckage accented with rubber noses and big funny shoes...
