re: What I owed and got after my hospitalization
Well, I'll have to share this one:
My mother had a benign brain tumor in 1973. Back then, such an operation would cost around $87,000.00, which we did not have, BUT, her insurance paid most of it, except a few thousands, about 1,500. which we did pay AND her insurance company also covered rehabilitation, which meant a speech pathologist, general pathology/she had to learn to walk again AND nursing care which she had to have while I went to work. So, it worked for her and both of us. She managed to life and take care of herself for thirteen years after she retired. Not bad for being a secretary at a U.S. bank.
