Rob, we weren't attacked by ISIS

According to published reports from "government sources", there is no evidence that ISIS directed or ordered or supported the San Bernardino attack, nor trained the perpetrators. The couple was undoubtedly radicalized, recently it seems, and the pledge to al Baghdadi--made Wednesday after the attack, remember--makes it clear that they were inspired by ISIS. That part isn't in dispute. But it's premature, and frankly a little hysterical, to say we were "attacked by ISIS". As far as anyone can determine--and they looked--we were not.

I'm afraid the most accurate term for the slaughter in San Bernardino is domestic terrorism.

You seem to really want to be scared shitless, so consider that it's hardly any less scary that a bloody terrorist attack was carried out by an American and his Pakistani wife, missed by the trillion dollar security apparatus that's supposed to keep us safe by recording all our communications. Oops. You might also dig deeper and ask yourself why Muslims in America become so violently "radicalized", which is to say alienated and resentful. Could the bigoted public rhetoric and racist hostility popping up all over the country maybe have a tiny little bit to do with the phenomenon?

Malik and Farook weren't the first and they won't be the last. Now go change your drawers.
