It's great that we don't have kids working in dangerous factories any more, which is as much about how wealthy our society has become as it is about indignant reformers.
The great socialists of the early 20th century seemed to forget what these same children had been doing to help themselves and their families live for the previous few thousand years, and are still doing across most of the planet. It's not like they got hauled out of air conditioned rec rooms to work in the factories.
