I honestly don't think they can help it.

I can get very frustrated thinking we are all following the same rules, but have changed my mind. I truly believe that "they" don't know what intellectual honesty is, and that saying anything in an attempt to either "win" or not be wrong is regarded as reasonable. Sadly, it seems to be the standard for a lot of things these days. The US has become an example of the morals of entertainment wrestling. As a very good friend of mine, a wealthy conservative, said it after one of our rare political discussions. I had mentioned Dick Cheney and crooked in the same sentence and we almost came to blows. And he was driving.

"What is different these days is that there is no shame."

The various methods of arguing dishonestly have been covered on these boards over and over, with no changes. It's sad, and it's futile to expect anything else from "them".

You're correct, my post was only an extremely limited sample and meant to show the foolishness of investing in extremely capable machinery when it's used to capacity only a very small percentage of the time. Businesses would go broke, as are families. That someone has a lot of kids, purely an ego trip, and hauls all of them around once in a while doesn't mean they need a 4-wheel drive heavy monster. But, having one is as foolish, I guess, as having the other and to be excused.

Frankly, there wasn't anything political in that post. It was purely a limited observation with a limited conclusion.
