Everybody loves a whippin boy. When he's back it's time to pick up where they left off. It's not their fault, and they probably were honest about genuinely missing him. It's just they weren't honest with themselves about WHY they missed him.
Some here missed James, Marsrevealer and a handful of other anomalists when MSNBC folded too. So much so they followed them to whatever site(s) they set up so they could continue having someone to disparage.
Nothing spoke more loudly about what a poster's motivations are for posting. Some folks are social and others are antisocial. Some are secure and others are woefully insecure. It's all rather painfully clear at this point - the 10 year anniversary of when most old school Zoner's first became acquainted.
Tom has shared much and as a contributor he probably ranks as the largest over these past ten years. And yet, some folks still speak to him like some stranger, flinging epipthets and demonstrating the manners of a teenage stoner. He's not a man with a wife and kids who may read what's posted here to him - to these folks he's simply here as a convenient opportunity of a political symbol that they like to sh-- on.
If his family is anything like most families of conservative zoners, they probably, for years, have been incessantly telling him WTF is he doing wasting his efforts on this group who treat him so poorly?
And with each incident of leftist-vomitus all over him it probably gets harder and harder to say "Oh the Zoners are a swell group once you get to know them."
No, after 10 years you realize many Zoners are arrested mentally and socially and that this would not change after 20 or 50 more years.
The wedding is off.
The HZ is now, figuratively, just one of many girls one whiles away spare hours with socially, a girl who has revealed her true nature.
One's thankful one dodged a bullet, alimony and all the rest.
;-)
Take care Rob.
10 years.
