How would you like it if people referred to your side publicly as fascist.
They do.- “Fascistâ€, Nazi and racist are quite popular labels applied by most of the left here including the ubermod.
…you cannot deny that it has been part of conservative strategy on this board to characterize those who did not agree with administration policy on the war as cowards, with those who suggested consultation over confrontation as appeasers, and those who disagreed with any administration policy overseas as traitors.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but that was before your time too. Consultation would have been better than going to war but after the war had just started, some attitudes by the left could be considered “appeasementâ€. In my view, no one was ever a “coward†or “traitorâ€.
As far “part of the conservative strategy†goes, you’re the one with broad brush in hand.
… I have been involved in almost continuous political debate, and have been ridiculed and insulted and dismissed when I suggested that perhaps this sort of dialogue was threatening to disrupt the group because of the unnecessary partisanship and divisiveness.
You don’t get it. This group used to thrive on debate, divisiveness and argument. Would you prefer an intimate group of back-slapping liberals? Where's the stimulation in that? And you don’t know what it’s like to be insulted until you’ve been opposite the Yeti on a hot issue.
I’ll quit here because after reading more, I’m starting to see what you’re saying.
ER you say you don’t like being dragged into these things but here, you jumped in with both feet. Just don't go stomping off.
(Now where did I put those rattle cans….)
