This thread is a perfect example of the disconnect.
Here I reach out across partisan bounds and it falls completely flat on its face. I do this after providing UCLA generated evidence of FDR's incompetence and that the depression we are approaching is due to fundamental flaws of legislation that govern our economic system.
We have Arrell, with his many unhealthy fascinations, spending his time digging up TB economic posts from 2005 trying to play gotcha, Bowser talking to himself on the economic thread above. And Eri and others singing the Bolshevik, anti-capitalist theme songs.
Unfortunately, one can't help but realize solutions aren't really wanted. It's much more fun to have a tizzy, complain incessantly or merely whimper.
One comes to the conclusion that:
A) The skilled conversationalists have been driven off these boards.
B) Everyone remaining on this board is vehemently partisan.
C) Its impolite to walk in and interrupt a group sitting in a circle.
D) It's not about solutions.
Probably a mix of all the above.
And MA this isn't addressed to you, you responded to the matter at hand and obviously did read the article. In the good ol' days we would have enough folks to pound out ideas, point out flaws and see an issue dissected to the point where a visitor passing through the zone could actually be educated and brought up to speed on a topic. Sadly, those days are gone. Now we have a fenced in kindergarten playground, and the only interaction is the mud flinging, name-calling and all the "fun" that is associated with such a fracas.
And even this post complaining about the dearth of participation and intellectual stimulation just contributes to the partisan rancor so desired.
So there you have it.
TB what was the name of that new site you found?
;-)

- And I TOLD him at the time, I said "Jimmy, be careful!"
- Not Clinton, not Carter. It was Roosevelt. We were doing just fine under Hoover.
- re: You still don't get it (n/t)
- He can't.
- Hilarious. Kinda reminds me of Bush Senior blaming the LA riots on Lyndon Johnson (who had been dead for 20 years) (n/t)
- I am fairly certain that, even as you wrote that, you knew it was a pile of horseshit
