1. I'm sick of War
Your alternative to fighting our enemies is?
A. It certainly isn't starting wars based on lies and false intelligence. You fight only when you have to and then you get someone competent to manage it.
2. I'm sick of fear-based politics
The slogans you use against McCain and Palin are full of fear mongering.
A. They should be scaring the shit out of you, too, but you're too blind to see it.
3. I'm sick of seeing this country's wealth funneled into a war that was started by an idiot and run by the most incompetent individual we've ever had the misfortune to have as SecDef.
Medicare and social security are going to be backrupting this country in the not too distant future...as is giving loans for houses to people without jobs.
A. You wandered away, there, Lee. ADD? The people who MADE loans to people who couldn't afford them are criminal. They are free market, greedy assholes out to make a buck off anyone's back. No better than con men (and women). They're why we are in the midst of the Crash of 2008. They sound like Republicans to me.
4. I'm sick of lobbyists forming public policy
Are you saying Obama isn't in bad with lobbyists?
A. He is not in bed with lobbyists. His campaign is financed mostly by a whole lot of small donors (including me). Why do you think they're going to try to Swift Boat him? He's going to try to put the lobbyists out of business.
5. I'm sick of government allowing drug companies to charge whatever they want to seniors in the Prescription Drug part of Medicare.
Would you prefer thewy stop making new medicines?
A. Are you just stupid? I've worked in the business for over 20 years. I KNOW what goes on. Most of their money is put into marketing which includes spending millions of dollars trying to convince MD's how their expensive wonder drug should be used instead of the old tried and true cheaper drugs (which have generics and put no $$ in their pockets). Trips and fancy hotels and lunches and dinners, etc., etc., etc.
Pharmaceutical companies don't invest that much in R&D. They go out and take the discoveries of University researchers and the NIH and then develop those into drugs. They're basically thieves, stealing from others and getting rich from it. Then they have the nerve to make seniors on fixed incomes pay through the nose for their drugs or else do without and die.

And I could go on, link after link. There also was a book written by an MD maybe 3-4 years ago which was an eye-opening expose but I don't remember the book's name or author at the moment.
6. I'm sick of being sold down the road by lobbyists.
Obama is the number two guy in the Senate for donations from Fannie Mae. Are you saying that Obama is free from their influence?
A. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-trailmoney9-2008sep09,0,4818879.story
Looks like McCain and staffers are influenced by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac donations while Obama has done nothing for them though receiving more in donations.

- Anyone still think unregulated capitalism is a viable financial system?
- re: unregulated capitalism
- We SHOULD have known when Bush said, "NO MORE BAILOUTS."
- Can't do any worse than the regulated system that created this mess.
- "U.S. bailout is bitter pill for free marketeers"
- It's perfectly fine if one accepts that the strong make up their own rules, and are allowed to eat alive the weak. (n/t)
- re: You just don’t get it
- Jimmy Carter was the problem. Not greed as McCain says. Former President Jimmy Carter.
- And I TOLD him at the time, I said "Jimmy, be careful!"
- Not Clinton, not Carter. It was Roosevelt. We were doing just fine under Hoover.
- re: You still don't get it (n/t)
- He can't.
- Hilarious. Kinda reminds me of Bush Senior blaming the LA riots on Lyndon Johnson (who had been dead for 20 years) (n/t)
- I am fairly certain that, even as you wrote that, you knew it was a pile of horseshit
