Face it, the last 8 years this condition has been brewing the Republicans have had effective control of the government. And who is benefitting from this rape of the taxpayer? Wealthy Republicans who have purchased financial derivatives on margin, often with only 10% down.
You and I get to keep them alive and well.
Unfettered capitalism is dead, killed by the greed of all human beings who participated, Republicans and Democrats alike. It just happens that there were relatively few Democrats because they would have at least taxed the folks along the way.
Republicans seem to ignore history, and it has repeated itself, fueled by the excesses of the last 8 years. Freddie and Fannie were good organizations until, well, unti. the last eight Bush years.
Sorry. And sorrier you refuse to learn, to consider results as a measure of "workability".
