Gee ER, it's so refreshing to have another perspective here.
Not only are you funny (well "ascerbic" to most, funny to me), but you've got a sharp eye for the paradox of detail. Our world is getting more complicated by the day, as all of us fall into information overload. Region by region would work if the latest international currency debacle wasn't happening.
Do you ever read Conde Nast's Portfolio magazine? It's a real eye opener.
I'm going back and reading articles from last year before the crash.
Gee, you'd think some of those Wall Street guys were gods. At least they ran the same claim to fame as sorcerers and fortune tellers.
What you learn, is that the lawyers who were on the side of the investors and trying to protect them, became targets of the Justice Department under Bush (ie: Bill Lerach from the law firm of Milberg Weiss).
Between listening to what "they" are doing to protect themselves (bailouts and bonuses) versus the law and the poor people's whose money they're draining; makes you cringe at our financial futures and the new task forces being created to steal what we have left through indebtedness. It's crazy.
