I gave up on taking it seriously when I learned...

Cuban "International Brigades" were protecting
American petroleum investments
inside socialist Angola
from attacks by Maoist guerrillas
supported and armed by South Africa
with money from the CIA.

and I know because I worked for the American oil company whose investments were threatened, and I owned stock.

There are no grand global conspiracies, just a bunch of overlapping agendas managed by dweebs in suits.
