The Israeli politicians are using the IDF to cleanse the area of Palestinians and using the Old Testament as an excuse. There is nothing in the Jewish faith of which I'm aware which says to go slaughter the Palestinians. They are doing it out of pure greed, because they can, because the US funds and protects them from international sanctions. The US underwrites all manner of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The US is doing virtually the same thing in Iraq. Out of pure greed it has invaded and taken over the country. A sniper firing an AD-47 at an armed patrol gets a mall or apartment building bombed in exchange. That's after everyone in sight has been shot up.
Remember the US outrage against apartheid? At least the South Africans hadn't tried genocide. What's happening in Palestine is beyond apartheid, and yet the US encourages the Palestinian ethnic cleansing.
American politicians used the American Army to cleanse the United States of Native Americans without the excuse of the Bible. We did it out of pure greed. And as did the Native Americans, the Palestinians are fighting for their survival as a culture, against a very well funded, well armed, well trained military. It is the equivalent of bows and arrows against Gatling guns.
I'm encouraged the Obama administration is acting as if the Palestinians are human beings. I doubt, though, that the average American will be able to counter the effects of a lifetime of propaganda and investigate the realities of the Middle East. I know the average person around the HZ can't do it.
As for Buck, I think he's a nice guy vociferously defending that which he was taught as a child. I suppose you can't blame anyone for that. It is sad, though.
