Israel was created at a time when more and more western colonies were lost to the inhabitants who declared their independancy, meaning creating a country and removing the populations to put new ones was so far against the international decolonizing trend, it needed very strong justifications for them...
One of them was "the high moral standard"
Would it be a good idea to lower Israel's moral standards to any of its neighbour's?
The arab countries were never in favor of a new country right within theirs, even when the UN's security council recognized it.
Even if Israel brought lots of wealth to the occupied Palestinians, it is important to understand that occupied and humiliated cultures would rather be poor and ruled by their own people than rich and ruled by occupants. This is over and over again stated by former colonized citizens.
It is their right to wish for the destruction of Israel....It's only a wish. It's only a matter of free speech; No harm has been done. And once their dignity is recovered, the Palestinians will drop this (as it has happened in 1993 when Arafat said it was outdated).
Israel still has a higher death rate from car accidents than from terrorism and since 1967, has failed to seriously deal with Palestinians. It's obvious the status quo is preferred, even if that means continuous state of war.l
