I was following you just fine until you got to that part. There are no conspiracies, TB. Things just appear to work out that way. Liberals (or most of them) are usually opposed to nuclear power because they sincerely believe that corporate greed is insensitive to safety issues, and because they are overly optimistic about alternative energy sources.
Conservatives (most of them) support it because they sincerely believe that any interference in the free market is due to a desire by the left to seize political and economic power, and because they believe without access to ever-increasing availability to more energy their business model is going to have to be drastically scaled back.
Before you even get the rest of us to listen to your arguments you are going to have to get past that assumption that is so self-evident to you and so incomprehensible to the rest of us. You cannot use as proof evidence that is still in dispute. There are differences of opinion, and there are conflicting interests, and there is stupidity and greed to spare on both sides, but there are no conspiracies. As long as you believe your opponents are consciously and deliberately evil; dialogue and negotiation become not only impossible, but evil as well.
But we've had this discussion before, on other issues, haven't we?
