re: proposed medical bill
A very large percentage of our medical expenses are for the elderly and end-of-life care. If expenses are going to be cut, this is an obvious target. Obama's past statements, and the work of people like Ezekiel Emanuel, were broad hints in this direction.
It's interesting that although this passage is not supposed to exist, the Senate is trying to remove it.
In my opinion, this was a relatively minor issue, and there were other parts of the bill, like the supposed "competition" setup and the insurance exchanges, that were more serious.
The Democrats tried to pass this sight unseen. They got caught, and now they're squealing about it.
