NASA's focus on Exobiology is turning out to be a pact with the devil

Sure, it focussed public interest, but failure to come up with the goods, in a time frame relevant to joe public, is eroding all interest in NASA, and also in the wider field of space science.

Going for the "easy targets" is a risky strategy.

Ever since the ALH84001 fiasco, we've been on a losing strategy, IMHO...
