Good to know there's at least one thing I agree on with somebody, although it sounds like you may believe the importance to our survival is even greater than I do. I don't claim we won't survive unless we go into space other than from things like nearbye gamma ray bursts and the continued long term increase in solar luminosity, but I think our odds go way up if we do. The long term survival of our descendents depends on it, and our short term odds go up a lot as well.
