1) The videos are hoaxes, a practical joke pulled off by some bored GIs somewhere.
But they've used highly classified equipment and code to produce these videos, and the brass are madly scrambling to hide the fact their tech is being misused by releasing it as a UFO event, knowing the extra-terrestrial angle will easily obscure the fact their top secret tech has been compromised.
The eyewitness reports from pilots could be faked, or they could have been ordered to lie. Or maybe they are just actors on a payroll, reading off a script...
2) I know there is widespread belief in UFOs in Russia; this story would generate intense interest amongst their intelligence services. No doubt they are following it intensely, perhaps spending considerable resources trying to follow up on it.
I still don't believe its alien spacecraft. That's too easy to be true, and too obvious to be real.
I agree with RL, the tech is too advanced to be a project under development by an earth government or corporation.
But if it actually was an advanced ET technology, then why can't they camouflage themselves more effectively?
Surely, a spacefaring civilization with relativistic inertialess propulsion could spy on us more surreptitiously than these guys.
Hell, even the Romulans have a cloaking device.

- IMO they are most likely secret government projects...
- Assuming the behavior described is accurate, then no, they are unlikely the product of any government on Earth
- Its a misinformation campaign.
- I am referring to the cockpit videos that were taken and released to the public... not un-named sources
- What cockpit videos?
- Take a look:
- Sorry, RL
- ER, they were confirmed as legitimate by the pentagon...
