After the past eight years, liberals and leftists have less than zero credibility on issues of appropriate political behavior. For every right-wing nut with a sign or some outrageous statement I can find a dozen left-wing nuts back then doing the same thing or worse. When a big deal was made about the one guy carrying the "watering the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants" sign, it was very little work to find something like this.

And no, liberal leaders were not disavowing them. They were cheering them at worst, and "defending their right to dissent" at best. I was there.

The Democrats set the boundaries of appropriate political behavior for eight solid years. Longer than that if you go back to Reagan and beyond. The American Left invented this crap. It's a little late to get indignant about people "getting in faces" now.
