An interesting post. In that context, have you ever actually LOOKED at the ideologies we're dealing with in America? Particularly who's running the government now? What they believe? Where they think the borders of their power are? What they think is off-limits for their control, and what isn't?

Every one of the examples I gave of corrupted leaders were people who believed absolute power was the only road to a perfect society. You even touch on this yourself, and yet nobody will make the obvious conclusion in own country: It isn't who's been elected that's the problem, it's that we have devolved to the point where the people we elect have godlike powers over every aspect of our lives.

There have been clue hammers on this big enough to drive bridge pylons into riverbeds.

Note that if you stand a liberal/socialist next to a conservative/libertarian (philosophies, not political parties), you are not looking at two sides of the same coin. Only one of them claims the right to enslave the other one.
