You might've forgotten that I told you I'd be attending San Jose's May Day march and rally. I did, so you might want to tread lightly telling me all about the violent tendencies of the left. What I saw firsthand was people for whom violence was the furthest thing from their minds.
It's fair to say that people on the left and right approach these things very differently. To us Liberals, a march and a rally are a party. We see it as an opportunity to socialize and have a good old time. Violence spoils the vibe, man...remember how we're all supposed to be pacifists? Do you have any idea what would happen at a liberal rally if somebody showed up with a gun? That's worse than crapping in the punch bowl. It ain't gonna happen.
Don't see too many smiling faces in the images and video from tea party rallies, though. 'Course, maybe its hemmorrhoids...have you noticed how up to half the attendees at tea party rallies are protesting while sitting in lawn chairs? What a hoot...you're not going to prevent changing the world sitting on your butts.
The only report I heard of violence Saturday was a claim by a tea party squad that tried to counterdemonstrate in San Francisco that they were run off. At one point they ran into a cul de sac and so they claimed that they'd been trapped and threatened, but it was really just bad navigation on their part. The proof is in the bandages: Any reports of injuries? No? So was this violence entirely psychological? Or just imaginary?
I skimmed Stack's suicide manifesto. Ya know, the fact that he was batshit crazy hardly precludes him being a rightwinger. And that wasn't even a slam, just a bit of logic so straightforward and obvious that even a rightwinger can see it (now that was a slam). He seems to spend most of the screed attacking the tax laws and the IRS and accountants...thematically that's pretty standard rightwing fare.
Nice try, though.
