Re: Nobody said anything about "free".

Wakeup call: These things are free for one hell of a lot of people. In 2009, 47 percent of Americans paid no income tax at all, which pays for all of those things you listed and everything else under "discretionary spending" (payroll taxes pay for Social Security and Medicare).

The top 20 percent of income earners, above $100,000 or so, pay 70 percent of those income taxes.

If you narrow it down further, the top 1 percent (above $500,000 or so) pays 24 percent. Obviously, they are also included in the top 20 percent.

Hell, I found out last year that Exxon-Mobil pays more income tax in a year than the bottom 50 percent of Americans.

This minority is carrying almost half the nation on their backs. And weirdly enough, these are the same "rich" who are virulently hated by the liberals who demand ever higher spending that will be paid for by these same "rich." It goes without saying that no Democrat is going to support fat news taxes on that 47 percent to pay for health care. So who do you think is going to end up eating the costs?

If everyone has a "right" to all the medical care they need, where does payment come in anyhow?
