Bad analogy. It's going to take a lot more to rebuild a complex, high-tech private health care system than it took to start brewing beer again.
The result of nationalized health care would be a near-indestructible chimera of massive "public" health care corporations controlled by and permanently fused to the government. The health care equivalent of a military/industrial complex. Keep in mind that the latter is not known for low cost, efficiency, and lack of corruption. If any competition is even permitted, it will also be heavily controlled.
I don't want to burn down the house to kill a rat infestation.
