In this day and age at any rate. He should probably revise that to a million dollars.
The thing is, the rich get more of a break than the poor. It's out of sync. The lower incomes should get more of a tax break. We've worked hard for our money and it becomes more and more difficult to make ends meet. Increases in items like gas and heating oil or the price of fruits or meat, etc. can be more readily absorbed by the wealthy while for the lower incomes, it sometimes becomes a choice between buying hamburger or dog or cat food to eat. You ever wonder why lower incomes have more overweight people? They can not afford to eat healthy (if they have even been educated as to how to do it) because healthy foods cost more money. Organic is the healthiest way to go and I can't afford to buy organic.
Before we started going to wars, there WAS no income tax. I detest paying money so that people die.

Personally, I think $250,000 is a bit low.
