Our income "outgrew" the medical deduction some years ago. You can only deduct amounts over 7.5 percent of AGI.
Since I've done the family taxes for years, I got to watch as more and more deductions crept into this "you're too rich" category. Employee expenses, educational expenses, etc. Thank God most of them were still active when my wife was getting her doctorate. Remember when you could deduct non-mortgage interest? I do.
