Please do tell about these studies you don't have time to talk about. Are you saying that wages, worker safety, child labor laws, healthcare, etc were no different in the pre-union 19th Century era than they are now? Is the middle class the same size now as it was then?
Unions have had their problems, but their primary function is to protect and empower workers. Wages, healthcare, safe working conditions, etc. They are the ONLY counterbalance to total corporate control. No wonder the corporate overloads of the GOP have tried to break them up.
