I couldn't see the joke either, but I was too embarrassed to admit it until you did! 😆

But let's take advantage of TB being away and apply a little of his vaunted analysis and research methods to this data!

First, sort the percapita electicity consumers in ascending order and lets look at the top 9, from the USA (1460 W/person) to Iceland (3152 W/person).

USA,
Kuwait,
Luxembourg,
Sweden,
Quatar,
Canada,
Finland,
Norway,
Iceland

First, 2 are oil-exporting Arab states, and probably have socialized, nationalized, subsidized power grids. So of course everybody leaves their air conditioners running all day in that hot climate.

All the rest are liberal/socialist Eurotrash-style democracies, four of them of the WORST kind, Scandinavian welfare states. Except for Luxembourg, all are at least partly North of the Arctic Circle, they shouldn't even have air conditioners!

The good ole freedom-loving laissez faire USA is at the very bottom of the list. Another incontrovertible example of American exceptionalism.
