Why should "per capita" be misleading? By dividing any quantity by the population you correct for size bias, in fact, that's why they do it. Otherwise, comparing US total energy consumption to Luxembourg's would be absurd.

I've heard you make this comment before, and I don't doubt you have a good reason for it, but I can't see it. Pls explain.
