Flame

What a rotten day . . .

The axe hit three of us, leaving only seven to keep the WorldCom customer net afloat. Lori was relatively new to the force (about 2 years), and told me just yesterday how she actually looked forward to coming to work. She said I make work fun.
;^)

I'll miss her.

Carolyn was with the department just a few months, but with the company several years -- five or better. I didn't work with her all that much, and rarely saw her at all, except at meetings (differing projects). When I did speak with her, we were all smiles. She has a great sense of humor.

I'll miss her as well.

Jeff has been with me since '95. He's about 26, a DeVry grad, and CompuServe-come-WorldCom Advanced Networks-come-UUNet-come MCI/WorldCom-come-WorldCom was his first 'real' job. We started out in Network Ops, almost together, then took the position of Network Propagator, generally touching 300 to 600 nodes per night, six days a week. From there, we both moved down to the Software Department. It involved a pay-cut for both of us, but it is definitely a better class of people, with a far better manager. From there, I remained, while Jeff took up User Authentications, but in the same software department and still sitting in the office a few doors from mine.

Him, I'll miss a lot.

May Bernie please fry, and may Sullivan take him deeper.

Still here,
Dan
