According to our paper, about 500 got whacked here yesterday

The high tech job market was hit hard last year with over 2000 layoffs, making it even harder for the newly unemployed to find work. This is rippling through the local economy already. Home repos are increasing, spending is down, and while job growth is reportedly up for the past 7 months, most aren't exactly in the same pay range as the high tech field. It's a buyers market for housing right now, only few people are buying. Yesterday will just make things worse.

May those at Worldcom responsible for this spend many years making small rocks out of big ones, but you know that won't happen. Hang in there as best you can.
