Look at the picture. You see light, where there should be shadow. As the comet moves around the sun, you see the tail move as if by magic at the same rate, ironically just like a shadow. The tail isn't really there. The cloud of sublimated water vapor and gasses is actually as big around as the tail is long. If you moved the comet around the sun in close orbit, the tail would go round and round the comet, like the hands on a clock. if the tail were the result of trailing material that material would not disapear at the end of the tail. Do the math. For the tail to move millions of miles in a few days as the comet moves around the sun requires acceleration at a rate rockets can't think of acheiving.
You are right about water not being able to exist, but it can't exist even on earth at 30 below, that is why even on earth, it sublimates.
Forget the anatomy of comets as explained to you and on the links you have included. THEY ARE WRONG. These theories were created long before we had the knowlege of sublimated water vapor in ultra cold environments.
