On Earth we have an atmosphere which reflects, bends and distorts light creating illusions, in space we have gravitational deflection which bends light (mainly from very distant light sources). A picture of a comet tail from a satellite such as SOHO showing the tail heading away from the Sun would have to be explained in your theory unless I'm missing something.
